Flower Power is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead day to day plant production at Arborglen, its wholesale nursery in Glenorie. Reporting to the General Manager, this full time role will oversee propagation, potting, plant movement and production support, while leading teams to achieve weekly production targets safely, efficiently and to a high standard of plant quality.

The role would suit someone with strong practical horticultural knowledge and experience managing production teams within a commercial nursery or similar environment. Key responsibilities include production planning, labour allocation, workflow improvement, reducing waste and downtime, monitoring plant quality and crop health, and supporting continuous improvement across nursery operations. Experience with lean production methods, propagation, potting, irrigation systems and performance measurement will be highly regarded.

Previous production nursery experience is preferred, along with a positive work ethic, strong attention to detail, physical fitness and the ability to follow processes and work well within a team.

Full time opportunities are available Monday to Friday for up to 38 hours per week.

This part time Junior Retail Nursery Apprenticeship offers hands on experience at Milperra or Mount Annan while completing a Certificate III in Nursery Operations through Richmond TAFE. No previous experience is required, just a positive attitude, a willingness to work outdoors and a genuine passion for plants.

Working 21 hours per week, the role includes assisting with the day to day care and presentation of the nursery, maintaining stock, garden beds and equipment, and supporting general nursery operations. The apprenticeship is suited to a recent school leaver and includes regular formal training, with online study and practical training through Richmond TAFE. Training is fee free, making this a great opportunity to build practical skills while gaining a nationally recognised horticulture qualification.

Key duties include:
• Assisting trade customers with plant advice and recommendations

The ideal candidate will have good plant knowledge, a positive attitude, strong customer service skills and a current driver’s licence. Previous nursery or landscaping experience is preferred.
