Update: National Minimum Wage and Award Changes from 1 July 2026

Minimum Wage and Award Wage Increase Announced The Fair Work Commission has handed down its 2026 Annual Wage Review decision, increasing modern award wages by 4.75% and the National Minimum Wage by 6%.

The changes will apply from the first full pay period commencing on or after 1 July 2026.
The new National Minimum Wage will be $26.44 per hour or $1,004.90 per week for a full time employee working a 38 hour week, up from $24.95 per hour or $948.00 per week.

Employers should review employee pay rates, payroll systems and any applicable modern award classifications to ensure compliance before the changes take effect.
